Program Overview

The Women Agro Entrepreneurship Program (WAEP) empowers women engaged in agriculture and agribusiness with the skills, tools, market access, and digital commerce opportunities needed to transform agricultural activities into sustainable and profitable enterprises.

Through training, mentorship, value addition support, digital market access, and business development services, the program helps women in Uganda move from subsistence farming to commercially viable agribusinesses.

Program Outcomes

Program Outreach & Mobilization

Targeted outreach through community networks, partners, and direct engagement to inform eligible women engaged in agriculture and agribusiness about the program.

Interested participants complete the registration form and submit basic business details.

Applications are reviewed against program criteria and shortlisted participants are confirmed.

Selected participants attend a structured onboarding session covering digital skills, platform use, and online selling basics.

Business profiles are created and up to 5 products are uploaded and verified on the platform.

  1. Storefronts go live, visibility activities begin, and sales performance is monitored through the vendor dashboard.
